Su-Planeta Lab: Innovation
Knowledge generation and transfer

Knowledge is essential for a complex sector as tourism, where human resources are so important and customer contact is so intense. Knowledge, the basis for innovation, is key to the creation and differentiation of the tourism product, to improving the quality of service, and the profitability of companies. It is also essential to guarantee the safety and satisfaction of the tourist.

The impact caused by the pandemic of Covid-19 on the tourism sector invites us to reflect on the tourism models we are developing, making it necessary to consider the basic pillars of sustainable development. Knowledge is key to handle this new challenge facing tourist destinations and companies.

We are integrated into leading research teams worldwide that allows us to carry out applied research related to the planning and management of tourist destinations, smart tourist destinations, geodesign applied to the tourism sector, and the application of mitigation and adaptation actions to face climate change through the improvement of energy efficiency and the implementation of alternative energies, and the strategic planning of the tourist destinations. Our team has an experience of more than 20 years in the field of knowledge in the tourism sector, from the global vision to the tourist destination perspective, which gives us great experience in applied research, knowledge transfer, diagnosis of training needs in tourist destinations, and the formulation of training plans.
